The PrevaMatt Alleviate is a therapeutic foam mattress designed for hospital beds. It features a 2-inch viscoelastic memory foam topper over a multi-ply foam base, with a 4-way stretch cover that reduces friction and shear on the skin. Built-in heel slope with softer foam in the heel zone protects one of the most vulnerable areas for pressure injuries.

The firm perimeter edge provides stability when getting in and out of bed -- the mattress does not collapse at the edge like consumer memory foam. Strategically placed base cuts allow the mattress to flex smoothly with adjustable bed positioning without bunching or fighting the frame.

FAQ

What beds does this mattress fit? Any standard hospital bed frame with a 35-36 inch wide by 80 inch long sleep deck. This includes Joerns WeCare, EasyCare, and UltraCare XT beds, as well as most standard hospital beds from other manufacturers. If you are unsure, call us with your bed model.

Is this just a regular foam mattress? No. The PrevaMatt Alleviate is a therapeutic pressure-redistribution mattress designed for clinical use. The 2-inch viscoelastic topper, thatched foam cuts, heel slope, firm perimeter, and articulation base cuts are all engineered specifically for hospital bed patients who are at risk for pressure injuries. It is not a consumer mattress.

Will it help prevent bedsores? It is designed for prevention and treatment of up to Stage II pressure injuries. The memory foam topper redistributes pressure, the heel slope protects heels, and the 4-way stretch cover reduces friction during repositioning. For active Stage III or IV wounds, a low air loss mattress may be required -- call us.

Is the cover removable? Yes. The 4-way stretch cover has a zipper for removal and cleaning or replacement. Replacement covers are available separately.

Is the cover waterproof? The cover is fluid-proof, meaning it resists penetration from liquids. It is also stain-resistant, anti-bacterial, and anti-fungal. It includes a built-in fire barrier.

How long will it last? Joerns warranties the foam for 7 years and the cover for 1 year. With proper use and care, the mattress should last well beyond the warranty period. The open-cell VPF foam process produces more consistent, durable foam than conventional methods.

Can I use regular sheets on it? Yes. Standard hospital bed sheets (36" x 80") fit over the mattress. The 4-way stretch cover goes underneath the sheets and stays on the mattress.

How does it compare to the mattress in the WeCare Complete package? It is the same mattress.
